Tasty and Easy Cupcakes Are Always a Delicious Choice
Cupcakes are a great treat that are enjoyed by millions around the world. One of the things that make cupcakes so great is that they are essentially very simple to make. They have moderate prep required and can be as simple or complicated as a person wants to make them. Making a batch of cupcakes can take as little as 30 minutes if you are a good baker and get your prep done quickly. From there, you can get to frost and decorate them in any way that you think is fun. Some people prefer to just eat cupcakes without frosting in an effort to reduce the sugar involved. This is perfectly fine. They’re still delicious! When it comes to cupcakes, there’s two that are easier than the rest. Those are vanilla and chocolate. This duo of cupcakes has been warming the hearts of people for decades and aren’t going to stop now. Hopefully these recipes appeal to you and you can start enjoying some easy cupcakes yourself!
Vanilla Cupcakes
There’s something simple and elegant about a delicious vanilla cupcake. This recipe is pretty simple to make with only the basic baking ingredients you’ll see in most cupcakes.
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups of sugar
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
Start by preparing your cupcake pan with some liners and preheat the oven to 350. From there add all the dry ingredients togetherThis is the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. In another bowl, you’ll add the wet ingredients. That’s the milk, vanilla, eggs and veggie oil. Don’t add the water yet. Now combine the wet and dry bowls together and beat them until it’s well combined. You’ll add the water to the batter slowly. This will make a thin but tasty batter. Now full the cupcake tray with the liners about half full. Bake for around 16 minutes. Let them cook on a cooling rack and you can frost them with your favorite frosting.
Chocolate Cupcakes
If you’re not a fan of vanilla cupcakes, you’re probably a fan of the chocolate variety. This recipe is similar, but a little bit different to account for the cocoa flavor that comes from a chocolate cupcake.
Ingredients
- 1 ⅓ cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ¾ cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- ¾ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
The first obvious difference is that this recipe uses butter instead of oil. Like the other, preheat your oven to 350 and set up your muffin pan with liners. From there, combine your dry ingredients which consist of the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder. Cream the sugar and butter together in a separate bowl. From there, you should add the eggs in one at a time and beat each time. Now add the vanilla extract. Instead of combining both together immediately, add half of the dry ingredients and then some milk. Mix it well, then combine the rest of the dry ingredients and rest of the milk and beat well. Instead of filling these cupcakes halfway, you can fill them up about ¾ full since they won’t puff up quite as much. Bake for around 16 minutes and then let them rest for a few minutes. Just like the vanilla cupcakes, feel free to top them with your favorite frostings. While some people like to use a chocolate frosting on a chocolate cupcake, consider a contrasting frosting like a peanut butter or cherry frosting.
